About Hugh Tuttle Engineering Ltd.
Hugh is a ‘hands-on’, practical engineer, who is careful, conscientious, experienced, and comfortable with marine and industrial projects of all types. During the 40 plus years he has been working in the business he has been responsible for the design and implementation of thousands of construction related structures and systems. Some examples of these designs are: retaining walls, concrete formwork/falsework, permanent and temporary bridges, ferry terminals (and portions thereof), dock certification, barge stability, spreader bars and lifting systems, engineered lifts and procedures, pile tests (up to 750 tons), floats, dolphins and mooring systems, drill and piledriving systems, and purpose-built construction equipment.
In all ways his primary focus is to: “Get the job done right, the first time”.
Behind the scenes
Hugh works from his home on Saltspring Island BC, on a 5 acre hobby farm with his wife Kim and they have an assortment of livestock. Their home is a 100+ year old heritage house which was relocated by barge and truck from Victoria.
